A guide to your festival day!
How to find us!
Preston Hall Park & Museum is on Yarm Road, Eaglescliffe, Stockton-on-Tees, TS18 3RJ. Parking is free and you can use the main car park and the overflow car park, best to arrive early to get the best spaces! Disabled parking is available in the main car park. By train the park is a 12 minute walk from Eaglescliffe station and by bus there is a bus stop outside on Yarm Road - check out the Museum website for more info at prestonparkmuseum.co.uk
The Festival programme starts at 10am and doors will open from 9.45am, if you are booked onto a 10am workshop do please arrive by 9.50am so we can direct you to your workshop ready for it to start at 10am.
Head for the Museum’s main entrance and you will be directed to the Festival welcome and information area. Here you will be met by one of the team and given your own personalised schedule for the day which is a reminder of the workshops you are booked in for, the times and where they will be. You will also be a given a festival wristband to make sure you can access all of the festival spaces and then we will point you in the right direction and send you on your way! The information area is open all day for any questions and in case you get lost, just had back there for help!

The Festival welcome and information point which will also be home to a small marketplace where you can stop for a little bit of retail therapy during the day, we will be selling our Make & Mend kits and artworks joined by a couple of the festival workshop artists.
The workshops will be taking place in the Conservatory, the Main Hall, The Education Rooms and the Bandstand Garden. All workshops must be pre booked. Your schedule will tell you where each of your workshops will be and there will be a handy map on there too to help you find everything!
All workshops last approx 1 hour and all materials and equipment you need will be provided. There is still time to add an extra workshop - check makemendfestival.eventbrite.co.uk to see available workshopsBig Makes
Join the Big Makes artist in the courtyard at the end of the Victorian Street and drop in anytime during the day to sit and try one of their quick makes and help us create a giant crafty work of art in a day! All big make activity is free to festival ticket holders.Food & Drinks
The Sitting Room Guisborough is creating a pop up kitchen at the festival with a new menu created just for us! The will be at the end of the Victorian Street and will be serving food all day with breakfast and lunch options as well as afternoon coffee and cake of course! There will be Veggie, Vegan and gluten options available.
We will have tables and chairs set up in the courtyard and you can also take your food to the Orchard or the Bandstand Garden for a picnic instead.
There will be a series of talks happening during the day in the Kitchen workshop space upstairs, talks are free to attend with your festival ticket, make sure and arrive in good time to get a good seat!
‘Happiness in a Handbasket’ by Lucy Patterson from Flourish at 10.15am, 1pm & 2pm (45mins)
Lucy is an experienced Action for Happiness and Feel Good Flourish course facilitator and loves exploring the notion of happiness as a journey, whilst spreading positivity wherever she goes.
‘How to design a life you love’ by Kelly Gaston at 11.15am & 3.15pm (30mins)
Kelly is the founder of Aspirational Living, a coaching & wellness business that aims to help people start living life the conscious way.
The Great Outdoors
Festival ticket holders have exclusive access to the Bandstand Garden all day, a lovely peaceful oasis of calm to sit and relax. Yoga and mindfulness classes will also take place here, weather permitting! You can of course buy a delicious lunch at the Sitting Room kitchen and then take one of our picnic blankets with you to the garden and enjoy an alfresco lunch!
